Business Analyst

The Business Analyst will be responsible for the analysis of complex data quality issues and their translation from XML / XLS data formats and business intelligence dashboards (OBIEE) into a business friendly format. The role also demands frequent participation with the business for analysis and troubleshooting of data quality issues where the analyst needs to use his/her depth of knowledge Icon Clinical Research India Private Limited - Chennai, Tamil Nadu
- and experience to carry out root cause analysis.
- Proactively communicate and collaborate with all stakeholders to elicit and analyse data quality issues, reconcile conflicts, deconstruct high-level information and abstract low-level information
- Develop and analyse communication and issue resolution processes
- Assess capability gaps, identify relationships and dependencies between new and existing systems and evaluate proposed solutions against enterprise architecture principles and objectives
- Act as a liaison and negotiator between the business community and the IT organisation, continually seeking opportunities to increase customer satisfaction, deepen client relationships and manage client expectations effectively
- Work with developers, analysts and consultants during the root cause analysis, support and maintenance phases to ensure that acceptability criteria are being met and to manage scope creep and change requests
- Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Monitor and be aware of trends in technology and business practice in the pharmaceutical industry, and provide advice and recommendations on emerging IT trends
- Produce innovations for continuous improvement, and facilitate its implementation
- Undertake other reasonably related duties as may be assigned from time to time

- Expert knowledge of Business Intelligence and B2B data exchange solutions
- Deep understanding of data integration, lineage, quality and mastering
- Understanding of Logical Physical Data Models
- Ability to analyse and triage complex data quality issues in a pharmaceutical environment
- Familiarity with Oracle and Informatica BI tools
- Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and carry out root cause analysis
- Very good organisational skills, logical and efficient thinking and strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of stakeholders, managers and subject matter experts
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment, effectively prioritise and execute tasks while under pressure and work independently with minimal direction and guidance from project leads, consultant staff and managers
- Experience supporting large enterprise wide solutions
- Strong customer service orientation
- Good knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and emerging industry practices
- Experience working in a team-orientated, collaborative environment, mentoring less experienced analysts and motivating others to provide innovative solutions for team improvement
- Good practical knowledge of data manipulation for use in report software, spread sheets, graphs and flow charts
- Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, including Visio
- Well-developed process flow designing skills
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools, particularly Agile Scrum
- Some understanding of application programming and database and system design
