Applications are invited from talented individuals for an open position of Patent Coordinator at Corporate Patents GSC department. The Patent department is a part of the vibrant and growing Novo Nordisk Service Centre (India) Pvt Ltd, located in Whitefield, Bangalore. The Service Centre is a part of Novo Nordisk, a 35,000+ employee global biopharmaceutical company, headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark. Currently, close to 600 employees work at the Service Centre serving various business areas of the Company.
About the department
Corporate Patents-GSC is a 14 member team consisting of talented patent attorneys, prior art search specialists and patent coordinators, and an integral part of Novo Nordisk’s Global Patent Organization (GPO). The Department works closely with the GPO in facilitating the assessing and capturing inventions, and protecting intellectual property.


The job
You will carry out a variety of patent administrative tasks in close collaboration with the Company’s patent attorneys and patent coordinators globally. You will function as a Case Manager and work with a state-of-the-art electronic case management system handling various patent formality tasks, including handling incoming and outgoing correspondence and communicating with national patent authorities and Third Parties round the world. You will also be a member of the team that is entirely responsible for all matters relevant to prosecution of patent applications filed in India. To prepare you fully for the job you will be trained by experienced patent coordinators in India as well as our headquarters in Denmark.


Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in any discipline with an excellent academic record is required. About one year of relevant job experience handling patent administrative tasks is essential. Practical knowledge of the patenting process in India, based on prior hands-on experience is needed. The candidate must have good oral and written English communication skills to allow for effective interaction with colleagues globally. Some experience demonstrating process-based thinking and optimizing workflow processes is desirable.


Candidates who have passed the Indian Patent Agent exam will be over-qualified for the position.
