Responsible for the line management of SAS Programmers within the department to ensureeffective work production of their line reports' Manage own and line reports activities to assure timely and quality completion includingadherence to all company standards' Support the Biostatistics and Programming department to achieve regional and global goals Travel (approximately 0%) domestic and/or internationalthrough input to departmental development initiatives and effective management of assignedline reports' Conduct the administrative activities of line reports including provision of regular meetings,objective setting and performing appraisals' Manage the development and training of line reports' Participate in the interviewing and recruitment of staff Perform these responsibilities in addition to the job requirements relating to the technical jobtitle Plans all SAS program development tasks, and Internal Quality review requirements for that portionof any SAS programming project which has been assigned Assign programming and internal quality review tasks to Indian SAS programmers within a projectteam Plans ahead, performs early review of all assigned project work and compiles queries for the teamleads Is responsible to ensure that all output within a project is accurate and has consistent appearance Maintains study documentation and files according to departmental policy Periodically reviews best practices for SAS programming projects done in collaboration with differentoffices (EU / US / other) and reports on training needs or suggests process improvements to Manager/Team Leader Maintains professional currency through literature review and membership of professional bodies Other duties as assigned Supervision Develop supporting staff skills, encourage growth and provide regular performance feedback Line manage staff and help set clear goals and objectives' Accountable for identifying training needs within projects Assist with training and/or mentoring of junior level SAS programmers' Role Requirements Bachelor’s Degree or local equivalent Demonstrated attributes indicating people management potential for example throughprevious experience of supervising and/or line management of staff Prior relevant experience in project leadership including co-ordination of teams and responsibility for project deliverables preferably associated within a programmingenvironment and/or clinical trials Recognition of advanced level SAS programming expertise Thorough understanding of the Clinical Domain and data structures.
