The Order Manager is the global interface between DSM Operations and the DSM Franchise team. Has operational end to end responsibility for assigned supply activity. Leads and manages all project and local network activities and participates in cross-functional teams. 1. Coordinates internal and external stakeholders, customers and/or vendors. Represents DSM Operations in the global DSM Franchise team 2. Contribute as unit representative on project teams. Ensure that own deliverables are met. 3. Act as unit representative on development teams and/or other cross functional teams 4. Communicates issues to involved stakeholders and propose corrective actions 5. Ensures lessons learned sessions are in place for own tasks 6. Coaching and technical training as recognized technical expert or leader. Act as mentor for junior and senior associates (including academics). 7. Understand resource constraints and identify and lead cost saving opportunities 8. Ensure compliance to Novartis and other relevant regulations. Writing and reviewing of SOPs. 9. Interpret results, evaluate data, draw conclusions and report back to team and management 10. Support cultural evolution within own function by showing positive work ethics and influencing others. 11. As a process owner being accountable for process improvement. Drive implementation and sustain phase within area of expertise 1. Participates actively in Order management forum and contributes to functional excellence, process harmonization and strategic positioning of the forum. 2. Reports functionally to the Order Manager Forum Leader 3. Runs Order Alignment meetings with DSM Franchise team members to coordinate packaging order preparation and to ensure proactive resolution of any packaging order related question 4. Advises DSM Franchise Team on packaging designs to ensure optimal usage of available capacity and budget. 5. Responsible for make vs. buy decision for packaging orders based on in-house capacity and technical equipment, in collaboration with DSM Single Plant Planner. 6. Establishes packaging related time schedules in alignment with DSM Franchise team and contributes to the tactical planning of DSM Operations and contractors. 7. Manage all packaging activities executed by DSM Operations or contractors and ensures agreed milestones and cost are met. 8. Manage all applicable finance activities, including Request for Proposal (RFP) for bidding & vendor selection, Grants, Purchase Orders (PO) and invoice approval 9. Act as primary liaison with DSM Operations and packaging contractors and manages order execution of all packaging orders globally 10. Coordinates material routing and inventory management of all drug product, components and labels for packaging orders 11. Coordinates activities needed to ensure complete documentation for packaging activities are in place for the packaging start (including label related activities) and for final QA release 12. Creates special packaging protocols for non-standard orders, if necessary. 13. Provides support for SOP review. 14. Responsible for assigned quality actions in AQWA/TQW 15. Participates in audits together with TRD QA (and GCP QA where applicable) to assess packaging contractor capabilities 16. Contribute to process improvement activities within Global DSM 17. Participates in DSM contractor network 18. Coaches junior Order Managers Minimum requirements Degree / Masters in science, engineering or equivalent. Fluent in local language, good Oral / Written Skills in English 1. 5 years of minimum practical experience in chemical / pharmaceutical industry or 5 years of minimum experience in field of expertise 2. Good expertise in related field. Good (IT) application know-how. 3. Good knowledge about the Drug Development process 4. Basic project management, good organization and planning skills 5. Knowledge of relevant regulations (e.g. GMP, HSE etc.) and Novartis specific standards. 6. Demonstrates problem-solving and idea generation skills 7. Good presentation skills 8.
